Every time we debug a machine tool, we will use measuring tools, the most common one is calibration. The following introduces different types of calibration tables and how to use them on vertical machining centers.

Using calibration tables on horizontal machining centers and lathes requires a little more attention because the way calibration tables are placed has changed.

On the vertical machining center, the calibration meter is installed vertically. Whether it is sucked on the protective cover of the spindle with a magnetic base or placed in the cutter head, the direction of gravity does not change, so the measurement results will not change. affected by it.

However, on horizontal machining centers and lathes, if the magnetic base is installed on the main shaft, when the main shaft rotates, the direction of gravity will change accordingly, which will cause slight deformation of the calibration clamping bar, and the farther the calibration is from the magnetic base The farther away, the more obvious the phenomenon of deformation.


When the direction of gravity changes, the center of gravity will also change accordingly. When the center of gravity is unstable, the measurement results cannot faithfully reflect the current situation.


On horizontal machining centers, the speed of rotation of the calibration meter on the spindle also affects the measurement results, because centrifugal force also causes deviations in the measurement.


In order to eliminate these adverse effects, it is recommended to use coaxial meter calibration.
